With days like this, who needs evenings...

Yesterday was the kind of day where you get a phone call as you’re trying to get out the door on your way to a rehearsal after being home for a whole 2 hours after work. The phone call was someone dropping the Shakespeare show I’m putting together, someone who was directing two scenes and acting in two others. So instead of getting out the door, I made a quick phone call to my producer suggesting replacements and hoping she could scope those out that night and a music rehearsal I was missing…
Then the ATM didn’t work on my way to Starbucks. I hate using plastic to pay for coffee – it seems so desperate. But I guess I was pretty desperate by the time I got to Starbucks – I walked in and told the guy "I need two things – one with coffee and one with sugar" He said "Iced coffee?" "Great!" "Cookie?" "Perfect". I’m sure I seemed totally manic, but I had all these things running through my head – actors, directors, rehearsal spaces and I was running late for dress rehearsal for a totally different show.
Then there was an accident on Route 3. For those of you not familiar with the road (and I think my readership of 1 probably isn’t) Route 3 is a two-lane road that winds through suburban Connecticut. An accident on Route 3 isn’t the kind of thing you can go around – there just isn’t room.
So I sat in my car and was very thankful for my iPod. I think I need to make a playlist called "Don’t Have A Stroke Tunes".
The good part is the that the rehearsal went well – I played scary, scary and crazy, crazy. Then I went out afterward, had a beer and felt much better.

Wow! I didn't think I'd been away from your blog for so long! So much has happened! Who dropped out of the Shakespeare? I'll have them killed. I have yet to start my own blog, but in a brief update - I had a callback for a Jack in the Box commercial - for a cleaning lady (the commercial is for the Hispanic market - funny the stereotype reversal for Spanish stations - white woman = cleaning lady, Hispanic woman = president of Jack in the Box corporation). Honestly, I think I was just far too attractive to be considered a believable cleaning lady. That's what I'm going with. They probably gave it to the fat chick. They couldn't have given it to the one who's bandana was tied pirate style (I kid you not - hoop earings and all. Such an obvious mistake.) In other news I am playing the lead in a musical called "Las Vegas at Large". I had my first rehearsal today. No pay, but I am just anxious to do another show! Plus, I am the lead. Ha Ha! It seems like it might not suck and it is at the Art Works Theatre which is in the theatre district of L.A. on Santa Monica Blvd. Right next to the Comedy Central Stage. I've been auditioning a lot - this Van Pelt Entertainment is really paying off. I will send you my new headshots when I get them back from Universal Prints. They're kinda good, actually. Alright, well, keep on blogging - I read it whenever I'm at my home computer (I can't seem to access blogs from other computers.) TTYS!
